Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb.18 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /
Israeli Embassy in Georgia will resume its work on Feb. 21, Georgian Foreign Ministry told Trend. The Israeli Embassy was closed temporarily, and it had "technical character", the ministry said.
Only today it became known about the Israeli Embassy's closure in Georgia. Meanwhile, the embassy employee told Trend, it has been closed for several days. They did not specify reasons.
According to one version, the embassy was closed because of possible terror attacks that leaders of Hezbollah group threaten to commit against Israel.
This week, sources in the Israeli Foreign Ministry told the Haaretz newspaper that in recent years a series of suspicious events took place in the area of some Israeli representations abroad. According to the sources in the Foreign Ministry, it may indicate the preparation of terror attacks in connection with the third anniversary of Hezbollah leader Imad Mughniyeh's death.
