The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) - the leading 'think tank' in Washington hosted 'The U.S. Strategy in Southern Caucasus and the Caspian' conference on Friday.

The conference was attended by leading political scientists of the U.S. and South Caucasus countries, as well as officials from the South Caucasus countries.

Leading expert of the Heritage Foundation for Russian and Eurasian Studies and International Energy Policy Ariel Cohen, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, Azerbaijan's Consul General in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov, Russian expert Sergey Markedonov, Expert on energy Greg Saunders, Professor at the Military College Stephen Blank and other experts took part in the debates.

The main topics of discussion were the issues of the U.S. relations with the South Caucasus countries, the role of each player in the region, the region's role in ensuring Europe's energy security, etc.
