Khalafov expressed satisfaction with the start of activities of the Hungarian Embassy in Azerbaijan and appreciated the development of political dialogue and relations between the two countries both bilaterally and within international organizations.

According to Nemeth, his country attaches great importance to developing relations with Azerbaijan. According to him, Azerbaijan has a strategic potential and plays an important role in ensuring Europe's energy security. From this point of view, Hungary is interested in cooperating with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, particularly in the implementation of the South Corridor project.

During the meeting, Nemeth stated Hungary's unconditional support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. He said OSCE Minsk Group should pay particular attention to the return of refugees and internally displaced persons to their homelands. In addition, the EU should pay more attention to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.

According to Khalafov, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a serious threat not only to Azerbaijan's security, but also for security in the region.
