Azerbaijan, Baku, March 16 /Trend, T.Hajiyev/
Internal intrigues and unnecessary competition in the ranks of the Azerbaijani opposition leads to a lack of results and failures, Chairman Citizens and Development Party (CDP), Ali Aliyev, told Trend.
He said CDP and the Liberal Party (ALP) call upon other opposition parties to stop the personal intrigue and to unite.
"Our proposal remains valid, but we still do not know the position of PFPA and Musavat. We will send the proposal to the chairmen of both parties. Their position becomes known, we will have a vision on the possibility of integration," said Aliyev.
He said the proposal of CDP and ALP reflects the phased integration of the opposition.
"Our parties are deeply convinced that the integration of the opposition is inevitable. While there is not double-pole political plane, it is impossible to talk about successful political process in Azerbaijan. We offer eight influential parties of the country to unite, and then involve other organizations and even public and political activists, who have authority in society, in the union," said Aliyev.
He said this union in any case should not be considered an alternative to the Public Chamber.
Aliyev called on the parties to terminate the personal intrigues.
"We believe that when the topic of discussions is the national interests of Azerbaijan, personal relations must be set aside. Amongst the eight parties, there are political organizations that have an antagonistic relationship with each other. Despite all these, we have left our personal interests aside and made this proposal for the union of opposition. Everyone should understand that at the moment, when there are conditions for the country's political development, personal interests should be put aside," said Aliyev.
Commenting on Aliyev's words, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) Sardar Jalaloglu said that this policy is an activity where subjective factors always play a role.
"If it is impossible to implement any idea, it means the problem is posed wrongly and does not reflect reality. If in such a situation it is impossible to carry out the ideas, you can not put all the blames on the personal intrigues. If the problem is put rightly, the made proposal reflects the reality, no personal intrigue can prevent them," said Jalaloglu.
PFPA and Musavat Party refused to comment on this issue.
