Turkmen President plans to visit Iran

The Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov plans to visit Iran leading a governmental delegation on Sunday, the Turkmen government said on Saturday.
"This visit, to be paid at the Iranian side's invitation, is timed to celebrations on the occasion of the ancient holiday of Novruz, which gained international status," the government said.
According to the information, Berdimuhammadov said at governmental meeting that "Turkmenistan and Iran are tied by strong ties of friendship, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation, as well historical and cultural roots".
Berdimuhammadov said that "a high level of inter-state dialogue in recent years has gained new dynamics".
The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution declaring March 21 as International Day of Novruz at Azerbaijan's initiative on Feb. 23, 2010.
"Bright Novruz, which istraditionally celebrated by Central Asian region's peoples, has become an integral part of spiritual and cultural heritage of all mankind," Berdimuhammadov stressed.
