Azerbaijani parliamentary speaker accuses radical opposition of destructive policies
Azerbaijan, Baku, April 8 / Trend M. Aliyev /
Azerbaijani Parliamentary Speaker Oktay Asadov has accused the radical opposition of destructive policies.
In his speech at today's parliamentary meeting, Asadov called the rally on April 2 "shameful."
"I do not believe that they would like to hold a new rally after such a shameful demonstration," he said. "Azerbaijan is not the same as it once was. Azerbaijan is an independent and developed country. There is no place for such destructive rallies in Azerbaijan."
"They want their demonstrations to be shown on international TV channels," he said. "I do not want to name who they are. But they walked quietly and only shouted when they saw cameras. It is clear that a script was written beforehand."
