Azerbaijan, Baku, April 15 / Trend T.Hajiyev /

Azerbaijan is a legal state and every citizen and political organization must obey laws, Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), MP Mubariz Gurbanli told the NAP website. He commented on the radical opposition's attempts to hold an illegal rally.

He said Azerbaijan has achieved success in all areas thanks to President Ilham Aliyev's policies.

"One of the major challenges before the Azerbaijani nation is to stop Armenian aggression and restore our territorial integrity. Everyone knows our superiority over Armenia is connected with our economic policy, as Azerbaijan beat Armenia several times in economic indicators," he said.

Stressing the importance of political stability for economic development, Gurbanli said the opposition's subversive activities contradict the country's economic and political interests.

"The radical opposition's activities aimed to ruin the stability in Baku. The opposition's attempts to disrupt stability serve the interests of enemy forces. Any unauthorized rally could have a boomerang effect," he added.

Azerbaijani citizens do not protect the radical opposition, he said.

"Because every Azerbaijani citizen understands that a blow to the country's stability is a blow to the country's interests. Therefore, citizens did not support the holding of a rally by the radical opposition on April 17 in Baku. I am confident that this group, without seeking the support of citizens, will once again be a witness of its own ruin," he added.
