Kyrgyzstan accredits new ambassador to Turkmenistan

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov received the newly appointed ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Bazarbay Mambetov, who handed over his credentials.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov received the newly appointed ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic Bazarbay Mambetov, who handed over his credentials.

Mambetov conveyed the Kyrgyz President Rosa Otunbayeva's greetings and best wishes to Turkmen President, the Turkmen government said.

The sides discussed cooperation in economy, trade, transport and communication, as well as in culture.

"The willingness to boost a mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmen and Kyrgyz peoples based on historical and spiritual community ties from time immemorial has been confirmed" the government said.

Mambetov also voiced "his country's great interest in the development of a full and constructive cooperation with Turkmenistan".

During the conversation, the delegations "stressed the firmness of the traditionally friendly ties between the two states and expressed confidence in its successful continuation".
