Ashgabad, Minsk sign intergovernmental agreements

At a meeting in Ashgabad on April 28, the Presidents of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and Belarus Alexander Lukashenko discussed the opportunities of economic cooperation, the official Turkmen source reported.

Enlarged meetings of the delegations of the two countries were also held in the Turkmen capital. Following the results of the negotiations, there were signed interdepartmental agreements and a joint statement.

The trade turnover between the two countries doubled over the past 5 years to more than $90 million in 2010. Belarus supplied automobiles, furniture and medicines. Turkmenistan sold textile products and petroleum products.
