Georgia, Tbilisi, May 4 / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /

Georgia is further simplifying the procedure of crossing the border with Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkey, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri told journalists.

He said a new customs checkpoint in Sarpi will start its operation soon, which will further simplify the procedure of crossing the Georgian-Turkish border.

"We are working to further simplify border crossing procedures with neighboring countries. These procedures are simplified, but we think that they can be simplified even more. When the new customs checkpoint is opened in Sarpi, crossing of the Georgian-Turkish border will become even simpler," Gilauri said.
He said similar measures will be taken for the Georgian-Azerbaijani and Georgian-Armenian borders.
"We are working with Azerbaijan and Armenia. Although specific steps have not yet been made in this direction, but there is agreement on this matter," Gilauri said.
