Lithuania is one of Georgia's major allies, the Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said while seeing the Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite off at Tbilisi International Airport to Yerevan.
He said that besides the fact that Lithuania actively supports Georgia in all international organizations, there is also a very warm relationship between the two nations. "The new Lithuanian President's first visit to Georgia is clear evidence of the warm relations and support," Saakashvili said.
He thanked Grybauskaite for the support that Lithuania has repeatedly provided. "Lithuania, always with its great resolve fights for the protection of Georgia's interests, and for its continued integration into NATO and the EU," Saakashvili said.
Earlier, before the Lithuanian President's departure, Saakashvili and Grybauskaite walked through the central districts of Tbilisi, visiting the old Tbilisi.
