Azerbaijan, Baku, May 6 / Trend, I. Isabalayeva /
A legal framework has been created in Azerbaijan for holding mass actions, and the Azerbaijani government creates conditions for holding them. Therefore, there is no need for negotiations between the Azerbaijani government and international organizations on the issue, Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov told journalists today.
"Maybe some opposition parties want to raise this issue saying there are no conditions for holding mass actions in Azerbaijan. I think international organizations have studied the reality in Azerbaijan and are witnesses to the fact that the situation differs from what the opposition says," Ahmadov said.
Both the opposition and legally effective structures have the opportunity to hold rallies in Azerbaijan, he said.
"Along with the desire there should be people willing to participate in mass actions in order to hold them," Ahmadov said.
Citizens do not want to participate in their illegal actions, Ahmadov said.
"This was seen in the illegal actions repeatedly organized by the chamber. Therefore, the so-called Public Chamber has chosen the Azerbaijani government as the object for slander," Ahmadov said.
