The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) held its regular meeting and discussed the approval of the new voters list.
Based on the Azerbaijani electoral legislation, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said the voter lists are being clarified since January of every year. He said the number of voters hit 4.9 million in the country today.
He said the clarification of the voter lists is carried out at a high level in Azerbaijan.
"Practice of updating the voter lists in Azerbaijan positively evaluated by international organizations. From the standpoint of international standards, Azerbaijan has no problems with voter lists , " Panahov said.
The meeting noted that the number of voters this year increased by 27,095 people. According to the new list, Azerbaijan registered 4,873,642 voters.
The voter list was approved by through the vote.
