Georgian's People's Assembly plans to prevent military parade

The Council of the People's Assembly of Georgia has decided to prevent the holding of the military parade in honor of Day on May 26, Democratic Movement leader Nino Burjanadze said at a rally of the People's Assembly on Monday.

She said the front of the Georgian Public Broadcasting Company on the Kostava Street will remain the seat of the resistance. The opposition supporters will move from the Kostava Street to Liberty Square at 12 pm on May 25 and will not allow authorities to hold a parade on May 26.

Tomorrow, another rally is scheduled for 3am.

Some 500 people took part in today's rally.

The Georgian radical opposition has been holding rallies demanding the resignation of President Mikheil Saakashvili.
