Azerbaijan`s President participates in official parade dedicated to 150th anniversary of unification of Italy and Republic Day, Azerbaijani President's official website reported.
Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev has participated in the ceremony at the invitation of Italian counterpart Giorgio Napolitano.
The ceremony is held on June 2, as the monarchy was abolished by popular referendum and Italy was proclaimed a republic on this day 65 years ago - in 1946.
Delegations from more than 80 countries came to Rome to participate in the ceremony.
Majority of countries were represented at the level of heads of state and government.
More than five thousand servicemen participated in the parade.
Servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces solemnly marched in the parade with national flag, as well.
The ceremony culminated with aviation show.
