Georgia and Azerbaijan are strategic partners, and now already advanced relationship to the next level, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze said today in Tbilisi after a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov.
The meeting of the foreign ministers at the Georgian Foreign Ministry lasted more than the scheduled time.
According to Vashadze, the minister of the friendly country who arrived in Georgia held the first round of talks at the Foreign Ministry, after which consultation will be conducted with the Chairman of Parliament and the President of Georgia.
"We implement the task of our presidents on deepening relations between our two countries in political and economic spheres, as well as the rapprochement of our peoples," said Vashadze.
In turn, Mammadyarov said that he found it hard to add anything to what Vashadze said. "We meet every six months, and with every meeting we leave fewer issues requiring solution," he said.
Mammadyarov said at this stage of negotiations, the sides discuss the existing relations and define the ways by which these relations will be developed.
