Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Safar Abiyev received U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Celeste Wallander today.
Underscoring the significance of military cooperation between the two countries, Abiyev informed the guest about the military-political situation in the region and the problems created by Armenia in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Defense Ministry told
Trend.
Wallander said that the U.S. give the advantage to the military cooperation with Azerbaijan and stressed the importance of further developing these relations.
U.S Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza also attended the meeting and introduced the U.S newly appointed Military Attache in Azerbaijan, Colonel Daniel Grillo to Safar Abiyev.
