In Azerbaijan, the official's agreement or promise to take bribe will be grounds for criminal prosecution. At the meeting of the Parliament on Friday, the relevant amendments were made to the Penal Code.
The person who commits this crime, along with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities within three years, will be sentenced to imprisonment for a term of four to eight years with confiscation of property.
And the bribe-giver will be fined from 1,000 to 2,000 manat, or sentenced to a term of two to five years' imprisonment with confiscation of property.
