The Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Safar Abiyev, received an EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Philippe Lefort, the ministry said.
They discussed the tense political and military situation in the region and the reasons contributing to the occupation of Azerbaijani territories. As a result, one million Azerbaijanis have left their native lands.
Abiyev said that the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group has not given any concrete results, yet double standards are being used in relation to Azerbaijan. Abiyev informed the guest that the UN Security Council's four resolutions are not fulfilled, expressing hope that the EU will make more efforts to resolve the conflict.
