The next summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States will be held in Bishkek in 2012, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said following the conclusion of the first one in Almaty on Friday.
Nazarbayev expressed his confidence that the outcome of the summit negotiations will facilitate the development of relations among the Turkic speaking states.
He said: "I am confident that the outcome of today's negotiations will help the development of relations among the Turkic speaking states."
He added the summit discussed issues on how to counter the impending global economic crisis, including the development of trade and economic relations, transit and the investment potential of the Turkic speaking states.
He said: "I am sure that the establishment of the Business Council of Turkic speaking states will contribute to further development of economic relations."
Following the summit the Almaty Declaration, as well as the rules of procedures of the Turkic Council were signed. It is an honour for Kazakhstan to be its first chairman.
Nazarbayev said: "The summit condemned acts of terror as happened recently in Turkey and expressed condolences to the Turkish people. The summit also expresses wishes for unity, harmony and peace in the scheduled presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan."
