President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the Gabala Olympic Sports Complex on Thursday.
The Head of State cut the ribbon symbolizing an official opening of the complex.
Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said the construction of the complex started in 2007. The total area of the sports complex is 9,000 square meters. The two-storey complex has sports hall, swimming pool, gym, canteen and cottages, billiard and tennis courts and a mini-cafe.
After watching the training process in the volleyball court, President Ilham Aliyev viewed sport facilities draft project.
A photo gallery reflecting a care of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev for physical training and development of sports, as well as victory of Azerbaijani athletes in numerous international tournaments was created on the ground floor of the complex.
The Head of State viewed sports hall, where international tournaments on football, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, boxing and wrestling will be held. The hall has 720-seats.
President Ilham Aliyev viewed the swimming pool. The Head of State saw the sport facilities, stadium for 1540 seats as well as mini football, tennis, basketball and volleyball playgrounds.

The Head of State was informed that the improvement work was carried out at the area of 10,000 square meters. The sport facilities have boiling-house, substation transformer, water storehouse, artesian wells and fire extinguishers.
The Head of State praised the conditions created here and gave relevant instructions.
