Turkey to continue to support Azerbaijan in recognition of Khojaly tragedy

Turkey will always support Azerbaijan in the just struggle for the recognition of Khojaly tragedy in the world, the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Parliament of Turkey said in a statement, Anatolia news agency reported.

Turkey will always support Azerbaijan in the just struggle for the recognition of Khojaly tragedy in the world, the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Parliament of Turkey said in a statement, Anatolia news agency reported.

Khojaly tragedy is a black mark in the history of humanity and a crime against the civilian population, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Volkan Bozkir said.

The statement also says that the Khojaly tragedy should serve as a lesson for the world. Turkey will always support a fraternal Azerbaijan in punishing all the perpetrators of this tragedy.

The Armenian military forces committed genocide in Khojaly on Feb. 26, 1992. Some 613 people were killed, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 old men. A total of 1000 civilians were disabled during the genocide. Eight families were annihilated, 130 children lost one parent, and 25 lost both. Additionally, 1275 innocent residents were taken hostage, while the fate of 150 remains unknown.
