Members of the Armenian delegation protested the use of the phrase "Genocide in Khojaly was committed by barbarians and fascists" at the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly session in Baku.

They recognized that the genocide in Khojaly was committed by Armenia, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov said at the plenary session of the parliament today, commenting on the protest of the Armenian MPs at the Euronest PA.

"The Armenian delegation participated in the work of the Assembly," Asadov said. "We tried to be hospitable to them, despite the fact that our MPs faced with a number of problems in Armenia."

Speaker regretted that Armenian MPs found an excuse to express their dissatisfaction.

"Euronest" PA in Baku once again proves that Azerbaijan can organize any international events at a high level," Asadov said.

MP Elman Mammadov said that the crimes committed by Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh separatists in Khojaly in Karabakh, in general, are a true example of fascism.

"How can we call those who drove people from their native land, killed thousands of people, destroyed the cemetery and committed other crimes during 20 years ago?" Mammadov asked.

MP Asim Mollazade stressed that the perpetrators of war crimes in Khojaly should be brought to an international tribunal.

"Our law enforcement bodies and diplomatic agencies should seek an international tribunal for Armenia's crimes against Azerbaijan," he said.

He added that the Azerbaijani parliament may apply to the parliaments of European countries for support in this issue.
