Azerbaijan, Lithuania discuss prospects for cooperation (PHOTO)

Prospects for cooperation between Lithuania and Azerbaijan in various spheres have been discussed in Vilnius.
The talks were held at a meeting between Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Lithuania Hasan Mammadzade and Lithuanian Interior Minister Arturas Melianas, the embassy said on Tuesday.
The Azerbaijani Ambassador congratulated the Minister on his appointment and wished him success in his new position. The diplomat handed over to Melianas a congratulatory letter from Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov.
The Lithuanian Minister thanked for the greetings and good wishes, expressed interest in continuing and deepening of cooperation between the two countries.
Melianas expressed confidence that during Heydarov's visit to Lithuania, an opportunity will be created to discuss issues of mutual interest, and that this visit will contribute to the relations between the two states.
Mammadzade thanked Melianas for his fair position in the Lithuanian Seimas concerning matters within the interests of Azerbaijan.
As deputy chairman of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group with Azerbaijan in the Lithuanian Seimas, Melianas noted that Lithuania attaches great importance to relations between the parliaments of both countries.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania performs also the powers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, State Border and the State Migration Services.
