Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili on the national holiday of the country.
"On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own, I would like to congratulate you and through you all the people of fraternal Georgia on the national holiday - the restoration of state independence. According to the unanimous will of our peoples who have historically shared strong bonds of friendship and good neighborliness, Azerbaijani-Georgian relations are dynamically and comprehensively developing today. I am confident that we will continue taking consistent steps to further deepen our bilateral relations which have already reached the level of strategic partnership, supporting each other within the framework of regional entities and projects and cooperating on the basis of mutual confidence," the congratulatory letter reads.
Ilham Aliyev wished Mikheil Saakashvili good health and every success in activities, and peace and prosperity to the brotherly people of Georgia.
