The Azerbaijani Parliament has adopted a letter of protest against a resolution of the European Parliament related to human rights and democracy in the country. The document was read out by deputy speaker of the parliament Bahar Muradova.

The document notes that the Parliament of Azerbaijan met the resolution with a sense of regret and concern. Speedy adoption of the document with the participation of 56 European Parliament's members is regarded as contrary to the spirit of constructive cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Parliament. Euronest Parliamentary Assembly was created last year for the development of this cooperation.

"However, the adopted resolution makes Azerbaijan's cooperation with this organization useless," the document says.

This resolution should be regarded as a biased act against Azerbaijan.

The protest of the Azerbaijani Parliament will be sent to the MPs, who didn't participate in the adoption of the resolution.

The commission for the preparation of the document, headed by Deputy Speaker Bahar Muradova, included MPs Rabiyat Aslanova, Azay Guliyev, Sahiba Gafarova, Fazail Ibrahimli, Faraj Guliyev, parliamentary speaker Ogtay Asadov said at a parliamentary session on Tuesday.
