German MPs to hold meetings in Azerbaijan

Members of the German Bundestag who arrived in Azerbaijan will hold a series of meetings with government representatives and civil society, head of the Azerbaijani delegation in Euronest PA, MP Elkhan Suleymanov said on Wednesday.
The delegation includes members of the European Parliament Horst Schellhardt and Markus Ferber, Bundestag members Tancred Schipanski, Thomas Bareis and Christoph Graber, a former member of the Bundestag and PACE Eduard Lintner as well as representatives of the German Ministry of Industry and Tim Braukmuller and Dimos Gatidis.
During the five-day visit, the delegation will hold meetings with deputy prime minister and chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov, and learn about the living conditions of homeless persons accommodated in dormitories in Baku.
They will also meet with Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, head of the foreign relations department of the presidential administration Novruz Mammadov, vice-president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Elshad Nasirov, executive director of the State Oil Fund Shahmar Movsumov, Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev and Minister of Agriculture Ismet Abbasov.
They are also expected to visit prisons along with a member of the public committee under the Ministry of Justice Shahin Jamalov.
