Azerbaijan has invited the OSCE to observe the upcoming 2013 presidential elections.

Parliament's deputy speaker Bahar Muradova voiced the invitation on Thursday during a meeting with OSCE chairperson Eamon Gilmore.

Gilmore stressed that the OSCE was waiting for such an invitation and expressed the hope that the achievements made in past elections will be repeated at the upcoming presidential one.

In addition to OSCE, other international organisations will also be invited to observe the elections, Muradova said.

"Differences in opinion in organisations that monitor elections always worry Azerbaijan, therefore serious work should be carried out to form a single electoral monitoring system," Muradova said.

Presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be held in 2013. The previous one was held in 2008.
