The deputy commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) assured a gathering of naval commanders that the Guards isn't scared by the volume of American aircraft carriers and the roar of its missiles.
General Hossein Salami spoke at the closing ceremonies of a conference for IRGC naval commanders and top officials in the north-eastern city of Mashhad, Fars news agency reports.
The IRGC commander called the idea to create the Guards and Iran's Basij force as Ayatollah Khomeini's "mental miracle." The Basij are a paramilitary volunteer force under the auspices of the Republican Guards.
In other comments, General Salami declared that the Islamic Revolution is building a new civilization that triumphs over obstacles every day. There's no difference between using our swords in the name of Islam 1,400 years ago and using missiles to defend Islam today, the commander added.
The imperialists who had come to build a new world see their conditions getting worse by the day while the Islamic Republic grows stronger every day.
