VP: Iran and Azerbaijan are brothers
Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 6 / Trend /
Iran and Azerbaijan are brothers, and no one can set them at variance, Iranian Vice President, Chairman of the Cultural Heritage and Culture organisation of Iran Seyed Hassan Mousavi said on Thursday at a meeting with Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) Sheikh-ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazade.
"Our enemies are concerned about the deep historical relations between Iran and Azerbaijan," Mousavi said.
He said Iran has always supported the position of Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The statement of the Non-Aligned Movement summit also stressed support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
"Friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Iran have always been strong and will be so in the future," Mousavi said.
Mousavi invited Sheikh-ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazade to visit Iran.
He said that Iran's new ambassador will arrive in Azerbaijan in the near future.
"We are witnessing the fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Iran," Pashazade said.
Sheikh-ul-islam thanked the Iranian side for the liberation of the Azerbaijani poets. He said there are no problems between the countries, while some minor issues are gradually being resolved.
Armenia's purpose is to estrange the two countries from each other, Pashazade said.
"I wish that the relationship between our two countries have further been expanded," Pashazade said.
