Deputy speaker: Some forces want to spoil relations between Azerbaijan and Iran
Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 2 / Trend M. Aliyev /
Some forces look to spoil relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, the First Deputy Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ziyafet Asgarov said at the first meeting of the autumn parliamentary session on Monday.
Expressing his attitude to the draft resolution prepared by U.S. Congressman on the South Azerbaijan, he stressed that Azerbaijan and Iran has friendly relations.
"Let everyone resolves his own problems," he said. "Iran recognizes Azerbaijan's territorial integrity while Azerbaijan - Iran's territorial integrity. U.S. Congressman sent the draft resolution to the White House and submitted it to the Congress for discussion due to insincere attitude to Azerbaijan."
"It would be better if this congressman had raised the issue of resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh problem to the U.S. president and the OSCE Minsk Group.
"It would be nice if this congressman had raised the issue of pressure on Armenia in connection with the occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory," he said. "Azerbaijan does not claim to anyone's land."
