Richard Prasquier, President of Representative Council of French Jewish Institutions, thanked for warm welcoming and said he was pleased to visit Azerbaijan. He cited Azerbaijan's activities and contribution to religious tolerance and dialogue as a positive example to be followed by other countries. He also emphasized that the delegation is impressed by development in the country and there is a potential to broaden cooperation between Azerbaijan and France. Richard Prasquier also thanked for conditions created for Jewish community in Azerbaijan and highly appreciated Azerbaijan's actions and initiatives to promote understanding between civilizations and religions on the international level.
Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov also touched on the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and said the failure to resolve the conflict is an obstacle for further development of Azerbaijan and wider region. He stressed that the international community has to exert pressure on Armenia and the conflict should be resolved on the basis of the resolutions by the UN Security Council and within territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
They also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
