Russia offers to create a unified system of space monitoring of the Caspian Sea. This initiative was made by the expert in the field of remote sensing of the earth Alex Kucheiko during a media teleconference Baku-Moscow-Astana dedicated to the 19th anniversary of the adoption of the Tehran Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea.

"Every coastal country conducts its own analysis of the partial space sector at the Caspian Sea. For example, the space analysis is conducted for Lukoil in Russia. It is possible to combine these into a single system in accordance with the Tehran Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea," Kucheiko said.

He noted that, the initiative may be capital intensive, but will open up new possibilities for the study of processes occurring in the Caspian Sea.
