OSCE: Azerbaijan fully develops information legislation

Azerbaijan has fully developed its information legislation. However, although much work has been conducted in this area, some problems still exist, OSCE Office in Baku head Koray Targay said at the workshop "Role of fruitful cooperation of government officials and journalists to promote process of obtaining information" today.
Targay stressed the need to strengthen the relations between the state bodies and the people.
"The cooperation is required to improve the quality in this area," he said. "The role of the media must be used here."
He said that the OSCE will continue its cooperation with the government and the Azerbaijani Press Council to achieve the transparency and development in this field.
Regarding the issue of ensuring the freedom of assembly, Targay stressed that freedom of assembly is one of human rights. It is necessary to thoroughly consider the issue.
