Political elite of 35 countries to gather in Baku

About 200 representatives from 35 countries will attend the VII General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), which will be held in Baku, the Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan party (NAP), Ali Ahmedov said to the website of the ruling party on Tuesday.

About 200 representatives from 35 countries will attend the VII General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), which will be held in Baku, the Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan party (NAP), Ali Ahmedov said to the website of the ruling party on Tuesday.

According to him, there is no doubt that the assembly will be organized at the highest level, as Azerbaijan has gained sufficient experience in this field and has enough opportunities.

Development of relations with the ICAPP is one of the major directions in NAP's foreign relations, Ahmedov said.

NAP is among 21 parties included to the Board of the Conference.

In accordance with internal regulations of the ICAPP, meetings of the Standing Committee are held between the assemblies in different countries for development of programmes.

At the 17th meeting of the ICAPP Standing Committee, held for preparation to the General Assembly in June 2012 in Baku, it was decided to hold the VII General Assembly of ICAPP on November 22-23 in Baku.

Discussions on security, peace and cooperation in Asia will take place at the VII General Assembly.
