At a meeting of the 'Friends of Syria' group, held in Morocco today, the National Coalition for the Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces has been recognised as the only legitimate representative of the Syrian people, the TRT Haber Channel said on Wednesday.
The 'Friends of Syria' group held another meeting in Morocco on Wednesday which is the first after the declaration of the Syrian opposition's merger in the National Coalition in November.
Representatives of certain groups of the Syrian opposition created the National Coalition for Syrian
Revolutionary and Opposition Forces in Doha on November 11. The coalition declared itself the legitimate representative of the Syrian people and demanded weapons and money from the international community to fight Assad's regime.
The National Coalition announced the formation of a provisional government to control the Syrian territory captured by insurgents as a priority.
