Top official: Necessary conditions for democratic elections created in Azerbaijan

Presidential elections are an important social and political action, and therefore are always among the most important issues of concern to society, Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social and Political Department Ali Hasanov said in an interview to official website of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party.

"All the necessary conditions required for holding democratic elections in accordance with international standards, and free expression of the peoples' will, are created in Azerbaijan. The 2013 Presidential elections in this sense will also not be an exception. Undoubtedly, while making their choice, people are guided by current realities and vote for a leader that can provide the country's development in the forthcoming period. Today's realities are that people of Azerbaijan strongly support the policy of President Ilham Aliyev, a policy that considers national interests, provides all-round development of the country, domestic and foreign policy, raises the country's international influence," Hasanov said.

He noted that Ilham Aliyev constantly relies on people and their trust in his presidential activity.

"All decisions made by the Head of State are approved and appreciated by the people. During his tenure from 2003 to the present day, the President fully justified the confidence, expectations and hopes of the people through his activities. Surveys on public opinion conducted by independent centers show, that the current policy on development of Azerbaijan and systematic measures should be continued and implementation of "Azerbaijan 2020: Look into Future" concept of development should be ensured. Considering these realities, we can clearly say that in forthcoming years people of Azerbaijan will continue moving to new victories under President Ilham Aliyev," Hasanov said.
