Azerbaijan, Serbia to expand contractual legal base

Azerbaijan and Serbia will expand their contractual legal base through new agreements in the economic and humanitarian spheres.

Bilateral documents will be signed during the upcoming visit of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic to Azerbaijan scheduled for February 7-9, a diplomatic source told Trend on Wednesday.

This is the first official visit of the Serbian president who was elected in May last year to Azerbaijan.

The agenda of the summit's talks will include current issues of bilateral cooperation.

Relations between the two countries have been rapidly developing in recent years and are on the way of development of strategic partnership. As of today, the two countries signed 19 intergovernmental and interagency documents.

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Serbia amounted to 21.26 million between January-September 2012, with imports at 21.22 million. During that year, bilateral trade grew by 15 times due to these increasing imports.
