Cooperation between Azerbaijani and Serbian parliaments discussed in Baku

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has met with chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov today.
Asadov spoke of the friendly relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of mutual visits.
He highlighted the role of the presidents in achieving a high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia.
He added that the talks held during mutual visits and meetings, numerous documents opened wide opportunities for the development of relations in various fields and created a strong legal framework.
"Despite the cooperation in the economic sphere is not at the desired level, we hope that the new economic commission will play an important role in the development of this sector," Asadov said.
Asadov stressed the role of parliaments in the development of inter-state relations, appreciated the cooperation of MPs in international organizations.
He informed the guest about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict arisen as a result of Armenia's aggression.
The Serbian President expressed hope that the meetings held in Baku will make a good contribution to the further cooperation.
Being a member of the Serbian parliament for a long time, Nikolic stressed the special role of legislative bodies in the development of inter-state cooperation.
