Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has received a delegation led by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius, the foreign ministry said today.

At the meeting, Mammadyarov appreciated the guests' visit to Azerbaijan. He stressed the successful development of relations between the two countries in all areas and expressed confidence that Lithuanian counterpart's visit to Azerbaijan will be an impetus for further cooperation. He informed the guest about the work carried out in many areas including ICT and tourism and spoke about the achieved progress.

Linas Linkevičius has expressed satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan and the meetings held here. He stressed that Lithuania is interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in many spheres.

Lithuania will preside in the EU from July, he said. He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan within the "Eastern Partnership" program and appreciated Azerbaijan's role in ensuring EU energy security.

While speaking about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, Elmar Mammadyarov said that it is impossible to change the internationally recognized borders by using force in the twenty-first century. He stressed the need for unconditional implementation of the decisions and resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council and other international organizations.

The sides have also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
