Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with U.S. President Barack Obama on May 16, CNN Turk TV channel reported on Wednesday.
Erdogan's visit to the U.S. is scheduled for May 16-18.
It is reported that at the meeting the first issue on the agenda will be Turkish-Israeli relations, as well as the situation in Syria and Iraq.
It is expected that at the meeting with Obama, Erdogan will offer to increase pressure on Damascus to settle the Syrian crisis.
According to CNN, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry's visit to Turkey, during which he will hold a series of meetings, in particular with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, will precede this event.
