Azerbaijan is gradually taking the place of a stable and dynamically developing state in the region and the world, the Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Social and Political Department Ali Hasanov said during the presentation of 'The Business Year' magazine's issue dedicated to Azerbaijan.

"It is no accident that for the first time this year the Davos forum takes place outside of Davos, in Azerbaijan," he noted.

Hasanov noted that various world analytical centers and economic research institutes continue to study the economy of Azerbaijan to explore the secrets of economic development and certain aspects of this model.

"Economic development of Azerbaijan is ongoing in times of a 5-year continuing financial and economic crisis, at a time when the nations of the world have reached the point of infringement of people's funds in the banks, reduce pensions and close down various social projects. The situation in several European countries has resulted in outflow of people. The Europeans head to Asia and look for ways to solve their social and economic problems in Asian countries. In such conditions, the development of Azerbaijan, the secrets and the model of its development attract the attention of not only Azerbaijani citizens, society and people related to the country, but also of various international business and economic institutions," Hasanov noted.

According to the official, 'The Business Year' magazine has been present in Azerbaijan for three years.

"The result of the survey conducted by 'The Business Year' among its partners in 30 countries has been announced. According to it, President Ilham Aliyev was named the 'Person of the Year' for the developments witnessed within last five years, for the pace of development and values demonstrated in the region," Hasanov said.

He added that it has been three years that 'The Business Year' magazine dedicates its special issue to Azerbaijan.

"It certainly is a business project. 'The Business Year' magazine operates in the countries where there is basis to speak, demonstrate and work. Over the past 10 years, Azerbaijan has undergone a major development path. The country's GDP has increased five-fold. The budget has increased approximately just as much. Nearly a 10-fold increase was witnessed in investments in social and economic development of the country," Hasanov said.

The official said the 2013 is a year of presidential elections in Azerbaijan.

"Arrival at such a decision of such an objective magazine as 'The Business Year', its readers and partners in such a year demonstrates the support both to Azerbaijan and the President prior to the election. Why? For the support demonstrated by Azerbaijan as a member of the UN Security Council to international peace and security; for Azerbaijan's contribution to information and communication technology in the world, since as you know, Azerbaijan has turned into one of the space-faring nations after launching its own satellite this year; for the continuous social and economic development in the region within last five years and Azerbaijan's contribution to the economy of the region and the world; for the fact that Azerbaijan has become a center of the world's economic, political, social, cultural and sports activities in the last five years; and for the fact that Ilham Aliyev has turned Azerbaijan into a leading country in the world and the region. By considering all these factors, partners and readers of 'The Business Year' magazine declared the President of Azerbaijan the 'Man of the Year' in the world. This is literally the event that triggers a sense of pride, and we are also very proud of it," Hasanov said.

He said that this issue of the magazine begins with an extensive interview given by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, on the developments achieved within the last five years.

"This is followed by the editor's special article dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. It reflects the view of the world at the national leader, and I think that is something every citizen of Azerbaijan, every follower of Heydar Aliyev should be proud of. The magazine's issue also includes opinions of leading figures about Azerbaijan, including NATO Secretary General, the Queen of Norway, the UK trade minister and other officials. All this required serious efforts, and I thank the staff of the magazine for the work done. I believe after reading this issue, you will once again decide on the importance of the magazine and its contributions for Azerbaijan. The magazine has been distributed free of charge to more than 100 thousands of different structures - commercial establishments, supermarkets, businesses, airports and various offices. Imagine how many people will become familiar with Azerbaijan, its achievements, successes, and we will be proud of the contribution made by our state and our nation to the global family, the spheres of economy, politics, transportation, information and security. I once again thank the creative team of the magazine and everyone who contributed to this work. I thank the state and non-state structures of Azerbaijan for active participation and featuring in the magazine," Hasanov said.
