Azerbaijan, Baku, April 5 / Trend, M. Aliyev /
The founder of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) Jose de Venecia proposed the establishment of the Asian Parliament at the first meeting of the Women's Wing of the ICAPP Standing Committee in Baku.
Asian countries want to depend only on themselves, he said.
"We need a single parliament that would regulate our legal framework," he said. "Economic and political power is shifting from West to East. The dynamic development of Asian countries is obvious."
While speaking at the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov supported the ICAPP co-chairman's initiative.
Other ICAPP members also supported the Asian Parliament establishment. The importance of launching the operations in this direction was stressed at the meeting.
