Israeli journalists, who have arrived in Azerbaijan, had a meeting at the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, the committee told Trend today.
The first deputy chairman of the State Committee Valeh Hajiyev received the media representatives.
He told the guests about the historical roots of the Azerbaijani-Jewish friendship. He stressed that international and tolerant Azerbaijan has established good and friendly relations with other peoples, including the international Jewish community.
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee highlighted the activity of the International Association "Israel-Azerbaijan" ("AZİZ").
"This organization further strengthens and develops friendship between Azerbaijan and Israel," Hajiyev said.
AZIZ representative Lev Spivak said at the meeting that the Israeli media representatives paid their first visit to Azerbaijan with a broad staff.
He expressed hope that these visits will take place in the future.
It should be stressed that during the visit, Israeli journalists also held meetings at the Foreign Ministry and the Azerbaijani parliament. They revered the memory of victims of the genocide in Guba, Red settlement, where Jews live and visited Azerbaijani historical and cultural monuments.
