India attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with Azerbaijan and considers this country important for the whole of Asia, Minister of Foreign Affairs of India Salman Khurshid said at a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan reported on Friday.
Mammadyarov is in India on an official visit.
According to the Foreign Minister of India, the visit will give impetus to the development of cooperation in all fields.
Azerbaijan is interested in developing trade with India in trade, energy sectors, ICT and air transport fields, Mammadyarov said. According to the minister, it is also necessary to enhance the contract legal base between the two countries.
The ministers also discussed bilateral cooperation in the international arena.
Following the talks they signed a protocol on cooperation between the respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs.
