Human trafficking problem were raised at the South Caucasus Forum in Baku on Wednesday.

Head of 'Cole Production' company Stephen Cole noted that Azerbaijan has achieved great success in the fight against human trafficking.

According to him, human trafficking is the most profitable area of trade after drugs and arms traficking, and so the fight against this scourge requires serious work.

Executive vice-president of 'End Human Trafficking' organization Alia Hammad said in her speech that a great success have been achieved in the fight against human trafficking with the support of the private sector. She also noted that the forced labor of 200 million children is used in the world.

Director and producer of 'Moonbeam Films' also noted that forced labor of people is used in different countries. Sometimes parents sell their children as slaves.

The UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser Nafis Sadik noted that poverty and unemployment are among the main causes of the expansion of human trafficking.

"Unfortunately, the fight against human trafficking is not paid as much attention as the fight against drugs. This in turn reduces the effectiveness of the fight against trafficking," Sadik said.

The famous actress, winner of the 'Oscar', UNODC Goodwill Ambassador Mira Sorvino spoke about the contribution of books and documentaries in the fight against human trafficking.

She also noted the importance of the use of possibilities of social media in this fight.
