Communiqué adopted at Second World Intercultural Dialogue Forum (PHOTO)

A communiqué of the first ministerial meeting was adopted on Friday at the Second World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue has been held in Baku.

In the document, the heads of delegations participating in the forum and the Ministers of Culture and Tourism welcomed the organization of the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue by Azerbaijan every two years.

The communiqué also supported the activities of the United Nations, UNESCO, the Alliance of Civilizations and other international and regional organizations on the development of trust between different cultures and civilizations, establishment of mutual respect and understanding.

In addition, the communiqué stressed the importance of peaceful conflict resolution for the restoration of peace, justice and prosperity for all peoples.
The forum participants noted that intercultural dialogue is one of the important factors in terms of restoration of lasting peace and stability in the world, praised ideas on building bridges between cultures and civilizations, reflected in the appeal of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to forum participants.

Given all this, the forum participants agreed on the adoption of programs and support for the projects that promote intercultural dialogue.

The forum participants also expressed their gratitude to Azerbaijani government for organizing the event at a high-level.

The communiqué also reflected the decision that the next World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, which will be held in Baku in 2015, will initiate definition of the capital of cultural diversity on every continent.
