Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the NATO Special Representative for Women, Peace and Security Mari Skare, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said today.
NATO-Azerbaijan cooperation, in particular the cooperation in the field of women's rights and gender equality, NATO's contribution to the efforts on strengthening the state institutions and civilized construction in Afghanistan were discussed at the meeting.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister stressed the importance of ensuring gender equality and the role of women in the society. He spoke about Azerbaijan's achievements in this field and stressed that Azerbaijan is ready to share its experience. It is ready to cooperate with NATO in this area.
Mari Skare said that NATO is interested in expanding the cooperation with Azerbaijan as a partner country. She praised Azerbaijan's achievements in the field of women's rights and gender equality and stressed the fruitful cooperation in this area.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the constant attention of international organizations, women's rights and gender equality.
