Turkish PM calls on to stop protests

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on protesters to stop the protests, Anadolu agency reported on Monday.

According to Erdogan, the continuation of the protests would first of all harm the state and its citizens.

He also noted that there are outside forces interested in destabilizing situation in Turkey.

The protests against the reconstruction of Gezi Park in Taksim Square in Istanbul lasted for ten days.

Previously Erdoghan stated that the government was informed in advance about the upcoming provocations in Turkey, but did not expect that the reconstruction of the Gezi Park will be an occasion for provocation.

Earlier, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during a press conference in Tunis that among the organizers of the protests there are representatives of terrorist groups who had organized the attack on the U.S. embassy in Ankara.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said that the damage from the protests in Turkey hit over 70 million lira.
