Egypt's political future should be determined by its own people and any decision made by the Egyptians should be respected by everybody, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said in a telephone conversation with Egypt's interim vice president, Mohamed ElBaradei, IRNA news agency reported.
According to the report, Salehi talked with ElBaradei this morning after returning from Turkey.
Salehi and ElBaradei have discussed the recent events in Egypt, the report said.
Salehi called on all Egyptian political groups and elite to participate in the national political process based on unity of all Egyptian peoples.
ElBaradei underlined Iran's important role in the region and called for the highest level of bilateral relations with Iran.
ElBaradei expressed hope that the contacts between two countries would continue, the report said.
Salehi visited Turkey yesterday and consulted with his counterpart on the recent events in the region, especially Egypt's events.
